Cologne doesn't "last long"?

I have a friend that only wears expensive cologne.

He also has my Illusion sample.....~_~

Anyway.

He says he likes Illusion (SCS), but it "doesn't last."

I find that nothing from SCS lasts long on me, in that I don't spend more than half an hour entrapped in a hovering cloud of fragrance (and harsh evaporated solvents). However, if I take a girl home with me ever, she's going to still smell Bay Rum or New Spice on my chest the next day while she's all cuddled up against me.

I'm confused. Should my very presence fill the room continuously with the smell of whatever I'm wearing for hours? Or is the scent supposed to be a pleasantry suddenly experienced by whatever lucky girl I slip my arm around?

It's an issue of personal taste, but I find that an understated scent has them leaning forward to smell more and an overpowering one makes them recoil. It's easier to slip an arm around them if they're already meeting you halfway!

It's a tricky one. As Bob said, some of it is personal taste. I go back and forth between wearing at an aggressive level that "attacks" or a "come a little closer and smell this" level.

When you first apply a scent, for about an hour you are very aware you're wearing it. It's very present for you, and others.

Olfactory fatigue can make it seem like it's disappeared to you after 4 hours or so depending on the scent, but chances are that most quality frags are really hanging around much longer.

Your goal shouldn't be to reek like you just put it on for 8 hours. It's usually still there and subtle. My experience is that's more the way women like it and they have a more sensitive sense of smell.

Strong can be good when you're just meeting or the date's just begun, but come snuggle time you're much better off if it's low level. Just because you can't smell it doesn't mean she can't. Happens to me a lot. Many married men in here would say same.

Actually cologne should only project for an hour or 2.

In order, these are the strongest, or most concentrated forms of fragrances;

Perfume > Parfum > Eau De Toilette > Cologne

So, like I said cologne projects for an hour or 2 (you should still be able to smell it) afterwards you can only smell it close to the skin.

You need at least one sillage monster to change things up and see how it works.

You might try a decant of Montale Black Aoud. This will let the lady know you mean business (in a good way). Put it down low on your body like behind your knees and let it waft upwards.

Once your friend knows you got this stuff, he'll know he's been had and that you aced him.
