Cologne and Watch Straps

I'm newly discovering that there are colognes out there that I want to wear. I've been sampling like a mad man for a few weeks and have bought a few bottles and have a few more bottles that I'd like to buy. So I don't think I'm going to wear the same fragrance every day.

But I have two watches that I mainly wear. A dive watch with a nylon NATO style strap on it and an aviator watch with a leather strap. Both straps are soaking up so many different colognes that they're starting to have a strange smell. How to other people deal with this? Stop applying to my left wrist? Just accept it?

Haven't run into that or I haven't noticed it. I usually wear strap watches too.

I'd say if it bothers you at all, make sure you apply where the strap won't come in contact. I sometimes put on front of wrist.

I recommend sampling in the creases of your elbows, anyway; watch straps notwithstanding.

For me, the wrists simply don't "hold" a fragrance long enough. The creases of your elbows not only prolong the longevity, but give you a better feeling of the scent, in general.

YMMV.
