What's new

Colette Classic Supply Co. New handcrafted shaving soaps.

I discovered these new handmade soaps here in the forum but there are no open topics to discuss them yet.
Them are new soaps that appeared on the market this year and lately I notice many american youtubers using this Collette Classic soap during their shaves.

In one of the last videos I saw posted yesterday a youtuber who was reviewing it described its scent as cocoa hot chocolate fragrance, not exactly summery.

In the comments of the video, the fragrance of the soap was not written.
I went to look it up on their site it might be White Chocolate Nut & Cherry.

Important aspect almost everyone who has reviewed it says these are fine soaps that get great lather and fantastic protection while shaving.
Tell me a little bit if you have used them what was your experience with these Collette Classic handmade soaps.

I think so but I'm not sure, I don't remember the name of the guy who reviewed the soap.

Meanwhile days later I emailed the artisan shaving soap company and of course they don't officially ship to Europe because they don't have the certification to ship to EU yet.
They told me they were still willing to send me a sample or a few soaps to my home address but the shipping costs they proposed I thought were exaggerated.

I have three of the Collette Classics soaps and love 'em. I have Fresh Clean Sheets, Lemon Citrus and Basil, and Lavender Linen. All three have great, clean, scents, and the performance is excellent. These are a little harder than most croaps, but a little delivers a heck of a lot. Use plenty of water and watch the lather materialize.

I was using a CC1 soap (Coconut Honey and Cedar). I don't really like the smell, but the performance was great. I really liked the idea that I could get a puck and put it in my own cup / container. I also liked that it didn't leave my skin oily.

I then ordered CC2. I ordered Spiced Orange and Bay Leaf. I like that scent. Jake (owner) also threw in a dented CC2 of Smoked Cedar and Leather that I like a lot.

CC2 is very slick. I also really like that it performs with a wide range of water. I generally like really wet lather but, if I'm in a hurry, I can get a great shave with significantly less water. My only downside is that it might there's something in it that's a little more moisturizing than I like. That said, I just made sure to only use an alcohol-based or witchhazel-based aftershave (no balms) and I'm good to go.

From a value standpoint - it's a generous amount of soap and very little is needed for each shave.

From a performance standpoint, I like CC2 better, but CC1 is really good. I also really like the idea that I can just order a CC1 puck and not have to deal with another plastic thing in my house. You can't really go wrong with either and I really like that we get a choice.

I definitely want to try Fresh Clean Sheets soon!
