Col. Conk aftershaves

Anyone use the Col. Conk aftershaves? I'm looking into getting the Bay Rum or the Almond Balm and looking for some opinions on it.

I use their Amber and the Bay Rum, and really like them both. Their version of Bay Rum seems quite different from both Pinuad and Masters (I really like the Masters and use it quite often). The Conk has a more cinnamon-ish smell, and the bay oil smell is less pronounced. My only criticism is that the Conk aftershaves fragrance burns off fairly fast.

I really like their Bay Rum, but as noted above, it's incredibly short lived. My theory is that the stronger the clove, the more longevity in most Bay Rums. The Col. Conk has an almost imperceptible clove note to it.

Rob, have you tried the (discontinued) Burt's Bees Bay Rum balm? It's actually sort of halfway between a balm and a splash.. a blash? a spalm?

I dunno, I haven't sampled all that many bay rum scents, but I like the Burt's Bees the best. And on me it has tremendous hang time. I really should try to snag another bottle before it disappears forever.

A splabalm! Actually I see a lot of folks calling it "Milk" now. I can't say that sits quite right with me...

I initially hated it (the BB Bay Rum). But I went back to it after several months and it's kinda nice. It lasts longer than Pinaud/Masters types of Bay Rum but not as long as Royall/Dominica types.

I just received my Col Conk Almond Balm today. I like the smell and it seems to moisturize well...just did a quick coating when I opened the package. I couldn't wait for the morning shave.

My only issue is that it is thick in the bottle and takes forever to come out. Any suggestions on how to handle it? Add a few drops of water to thin it out maybe?

I love the smell of the Almond but I can already notice it is short lived which is good for me.

Interesting replies. I'm realling looking into aftershaves/balms for more of the conditioning factor then they actual scent the produce. So mabye the Col. is for me? :)
