Making a spray aftershave

doctordial

my brain goes "thonk"
I've been trying to make a spray aftershave in sample bottles. I've been using lavender, black pepper oil, clove leaf oil. Also lavender and rosemary oil. I was wondering how much of this I should use. The fragrance isn't last long at all. I also have SB40 alcohol and alovera liquid. I'm just wondering how much of each I should use just to get something that will last for a while like a typical aftershave?

A lot depends on the quality of your oils. A lot depends on whether they are Fragrance oils or essential oils. A lot depends on concentration / oil vs alcohol and a lot depends on how long you let it sit before using.
You can use a fixative to increase longevity if needed but a decently mixed splash really shouldn't need it. Aftershave is very low in fragrance, comparatively speaking.
There are a million recipes on the internet for all kinds of frags. There is a thread on B&B about AS recipes.
I would suggest keeping it simple to start off and working with a single EO and then complicate it as you learn. Scent development isn't very linear.
