Closest thing to Walmart Personnas?

I have tried the Walmart Wilkinsons and still very much prefer the Personnas that they used to stock. Which of the various Personnas out there are the same or close to these?

Thanks! I'm happy buying online. Just that there are a bunch of variants of Personnas (Israeli, etc.) and I wanted to get something close.

The Walmart link is a two pack of 10 blades, which comes out to about 18 cents a blade. Still kind of steep for a DE blade, but if you like what you like...

I am a big fan of the Walmart Personnas; just bought 90 online. I think that the Red Pack Israelis are close if not identical to the Walmart razor. Both perform and feel essentially identical to one another.

I just got 10 Personna Med Prep blades from Razor Blades and More and must say they are terrific. So these have replaced the Walmart Personnas for me. I also hear that the Personna Lab Blue blades are the same as the Med Preps at about half the price in bulk, so will be looking into those.

ASR Makes their Personna blades in 4 different "grades".

1) Stainless Steel
Packaged as: CVS house brand

2) Stainless Steel w/Comfort Coating* A.K.A. Super Stainless Steel**
Packaged as: Personna 5 pack (from Sally Beauty or WCS), Walgreens house brand, Blue wrapped Super AKA ”Lab Blue”, Med Preps “Hospital Use”***

3) Platinum Chrome****
Packaged as: Personna 10 Pack (from Personna.com, Walmart.com), Exchange Select house brand (Military BX/PX)

4) Platinum Chrome w/Comfort Coating A.K.A. Super Platinum Chrome**
Packaged as: Personna 5 pack from Sally Beauty.com, Barber Personna (White wrapper)

* Comfort Coating means PTFE “Teflon” coated, and provides a smoother edge.

**”Super” on a blade just means that it has the comfort coating.

*** Med Preps “Hospital Use” are the same blade as the Labs/Lab Blue, however they go through an extra cleansing/sterilization process prior to wrapping, making them safe for hospital operating rooms.

**** Platinum Chrome blade is more durable and keeps its edge longer than Stainless Steel.

Hello Dave,

Check your local dollar stores. You should be able to find them in 5-packs for $1. A little more expensive than WM ($1.76 per 10-pk) but still available locally.

Thanks,
Mike

Here is what I can get locally at the dollar stores. I have seen a few packs of blades (don't remember the brand) that were made in Korea mixed in with the Personnas though.

Thanks,
Mike

Those 5 for a dollar packs are usually Korean made Dorcos.

I bought some of the WM Personna DE blades online a while ago and tried one out this morning. First touch was a lot of grabbing and I thought I was in for a massacre but they turned out OK. No cuts or weepers. They aren't nearly as good as the Personna Reds I tried from the great blade exchange but they're OK. That said I wouldn't buy them again.
