Christmas in September

Wow! What a day. I have been working insane hours. BUT...today I got some mail. Well, 2x20' containers of mail arrived (it had been a while). I got my sight unseen deal and WID's lapping film arrived!!!

So, today I will have to find a flat enough surface to use the film and start working my DOVO Best Quality to actual shave able.

The Sight Unseen is gorgeous (will post pics later). Only issue...the rust. Any ideas for rust removal in Afghanistan?

Thanks again Wid for the lapping film...probably gonna start on my buddies razor (the one who tried to sharpen with a "medium" and "fine" grit knife stone).

SOunds like a good day. SWMBO has been having some strange parcels here at home latley. My Birthday on the 30th and I haven't dropped any hints really. As for rust removal my Dad when he was stationed in Egypt (in the 50's) said they used sand and light engine oil to remove tough rust, but that was in the 50's.

Hmmm...After I get some shaves out of this thing (as it was honed by the whipped dog) I think I may give that a shot. Heck, I've got all the sand I could ever need around me.
