Cheap <$40 face lathering brush?

So I'm looking for a cheap face lathering brush under $40. Is there one out there or am I asking for too much lol. I want one that I'll be able to use with shave sticks.

At West Coast Shaving, the Berkeley in Best is $44 after using the "BANDB" discount coupon code. This is my daily go-to brush and I'm a face latherer (dabbled with a scuttle for a bit though).

Wow thanks for the quick replies, the berkely looks really nice, I was hoping to go a little cheaper but I might just deal with it. I can't find the Kingsley brush anywhere... I found a #28 but not a 22

I found the Berkeley (Best) to be softer than my Rooney 3/1 Super, yet it handles hard soaps without breaking a sweat.

Semogue 620. It'll only set you back $22. Break it in for a coupla weeks and you'll have an awesome face lathering machine!

Semogue 620, 1305, 1800 or Vulfix Grosvenor would all be good choices.
I highly recommend the 620 out of the brushes listed above.

Either of the Turkish horse hair brushes, Nr. 6 or Nr. 7 from bestshave.net work fine for face lathering, and cost about $7.00 shipped, if you don't buy anything else.

The only time I face lather with a stick, however, is in travel mode, when I want something that will dry faster. What works for me is an Omega Syntex basic nylon brush that I found in the back of the cabinet. It's a bit scritchy, but splays nicely and works for me better than a TGN "Synthetic Badger," the only other synthetic, fast drying brush I have.

Best selection of Omega Syntexes is at Shoebox Shave shop, and one can be had for about $11-15 shipped. Connaught Shaving also has some. Doing a Web search on Omega Syntex (or Sintex) should reveal other sources.

I'd actually recommend a Semogue 610 or 1460 (the same knot with different handles). The 1460 happens to be my current favorite brush in my collection, which includes a Simpson Rover, Vie-Long 13061, Vulfix Grosvenor badger/boar mix, and several Semogues (2011 LE Finest Bristle 1, SOC, 620, 1305, 1800, and 2000). It also happens to be the cheapest (less than $13 shipped from Vintage Scent).

I face-lather exclusively, by the way, including shave sticks.

I was hoping to get something with a shorter loft (45mm or under) so that the brush wouldn't be as floppy as the one I got now.

I don't know what you have now, but the 50mm boars are not floppy at all. I think 50mm are as short as boars generally go, and at that loft they've got loads of backbone. 45mm on a boar (if anyone makes one) might be bordering on unusable.

I have a Parker synthetic brush, I don't actually know the measurements (I can't find them anywhere online) but its pretty floppy
