Prompted by another "Please swap, I can't stand this soap" thread in the WTB.

It's interesting how Cella seems to polarise opinions. I bought it wanting to like it but hated it. However I know that Cella has a loyal following. I don't know of any other soap that so divides opinions.

So, I thought I'd run a poll to see how popular Cella is with this community of discerning users.

Interesting poll for me. I have just started using Cella this week for the first time, and am really enjoying it.

I love the smell, and it provides amazing protection on my face. 3 passes and no problem with a Merkur HD this morning.

Just got some Cella in the mail today. Stropped up a Torrey and just finished a great shave. My first impression is ---- this is good stuff, a really, really, good shaving soap.

If I could only use one soap, Cella, Crema Sapone Extra Extra Purissima would definitely be it. I can understand the scent would be a personal thing but the slickness and moisturising properties of the lather are unbeaten IMHO. I would hate it if it went the same way as P-160, my other much loved soap.

Cella is an excellent product, I would buy it again but then, I think there's better. The scent is always a huge factor for me. I find the almonds to be too mild...

Cella, Crema Sapone Extra Extra Purissima is, in my opinion, the finest shaving soap available anywhere. Time. Period. The most classical soap of the great Italian Barbershop tradition, since 1899. With over 110 years of glorious history, superior quality and trusted performance. No further commentary needed.

Marco every time I see you on here, reading the eloquent praise of Cella, it makes it very hard not to order some.

I've just received two 150 ml tubs a couple of days ago, and initially, I was horrified. I was greeted with two tubs of what appeared to be a brownish lump that smelled like a tub of used lard... I detect no scent of almonds whatsoever...

On using it, I have never had a soap where the lather has such "sustainability." Mixed and applied properly, it stays on and provides some excellent cushion and slickness until removed with a razor.

In short, a surprisingly excellent soap. I can, however, understand why some people don't like it.

Cella is going to have to be the next soap I try. I have had a sample of Velobra Almond and loved it, so I doubt that I would not find Cella even better. I have tended to like the tallow based soaps best.

I've used it 3 times so far.
My 1st impression of the scent was that it smelled like Play-Doh.

My 1st batch of lather was so light and airy I rinsed it off and started over.(not enough product)

Days 2 and 3 the lather was thick and slick, and gave a great shave.
Still not wild about the scent, but it works well.

I tried it based on Marco's recommendation and thought it was a GREAT soap. It is not in my current rotation but will be starting next week.
