Cella question

What the deal with Cella? Does it have the same amaretto scent as P160, Figaro and Fitness? Apparently, it's a more 'natural' formula; doesn't this mean it's a tallow soap? Does anybody have an ingredient list?

Thanks for all your help.

What's the deal with Cella? It's awesome! :001_cool:

Ingredients: Cocos Nucifera, Tallow, Stearic Acid, Potassium Hydroxide, Sodium Hydroxide, Aqua, Potassium Carbonate, Parfum

I;ve smelled P160 (but haven't used it) and compared to Cella, I found P160's scent to be a little bit stronger. Otherwise, they both have a similar almond/marzipan type scent

The scent it's not as bitter almod, it's more like .... a fatty cream of bacon and butter with some almond.... a bit bitter, a bit warm, ...I prefer P160 in terms of scent....but.....

By the side of the perfomance it's A W E S O M E

Does it have the same amaretto scent as P160...
Absolutely not. P160 has a rich sweet amaretto fragrance, Cella's is much fainter, somewhat more bitter and more 'roasted nut' type. There is barely enough almond in Cella to cover for the somewhat yucky scent of unscented soap.

...Figaro and Fitness?
Can't say, never smelled those.

Natural in the sense that it contains practically nothing but soap, and therefore hard for people's skins to take offense at. That also means that the soap can go bad, there have been some reports of mould growing in the tub after some time. The ingredient list has already been given above.

I agree with this -- for the most recent tub of Cella I bought. My previous tub had a more pronounced bitter Almond scent. I liked it better. My current tub is taking some getting used to. The Century-old (plus some) process they use must allow for some variation. :001_smile

In the past I read several posts where people complained of the Cella scent and I really couldn't understand why. Now I understand. But I found that one of us (me, soap) is mellowing and the scent is less of an issue. In any case, the actual performance of my new tub is just as good as always.

I agree that the scent definitely mellows with time. I'm not a huge fan of the scent, there are other soaps I prefer in that department. However, the performance of Cella, as others have noted, is exceptional.

Thank you all for your information and opinions:thumbup1:

Cella is one of my go-tos.

It's perhaps the slickest soap I have tried, even slicker than Mama Bears! :w00t:

I tried P160 too, and found it to have a much stronger and sweeter scent, but the performance was no where near that of Cella.

P160 is Marzipan Almond, then Fitness is a little milder. Acca kappa is even more milder. Cella is an animal fat smell with a hint of almond....

I am working both 1kg bricks and I have to disagree with you on this. They perform a bit different but in the end they both do a great job though the lather is not the same. Actually I think I prefer the P.160 just by an inch.

Scents are different; P.160 has a strong sweet candy-like scent and Cella has a scent. You might call it almond if you like since it is in there too but my Cella brick is not sweet or candy-like at all.
