Castle Forbes Essential Lime Balm - Smells Awful!

Am I the only one who thinks it smells like turpentine? I love their creams and their 1445 balm, but this stuff is awful!

I have no issues with mine. When I put it on or use it, wife always comments "you used lime today didn't you."

mine smells like straight up Lime

Hmmm...maybe my bottle is old stock or just from a bad batch. The Lime scent is strong, but I definitely get "turpentine" too. I'm gonna have to see what my girlfriend thinks of it - she has a more "educated" nose than I do.

Just out of curioaity what does the 1445 smell like?

It sounds interesting based on the description...

I am not good at describing scents. It's kind of grassy and clean-smelling; maybe a tiny bit lavender-y, a little sweet, but not too sweet (hate that).

For me it smelt like lime but a lot of people where I am have commented on how 'strong' it was. Try to apply in small doses and maybe don't sniff it from the bottle?

It's very fern-like with many woody, pine-like notes IIRC. It was actually quite manly yet light/delicate.

I love the lime... Lots of positive comments from people in my family. I use this and TOBS #74 Victorian Lime as my two go-to scents.

I used mine last night, it was great! Went very nice with the CF Limes shave cream. The only part of the CF lineup I don't like is the pre-shave that has the awful "unscented" smell.

Now I wonder, my girlfriend thinks the CF Limes smells like shoe polish, and I've noticed other people mention that too. However, I don't smell that at all. I wonder if thats just based on a scent recognition or is it something deeper, like how 2 people can smell things differently. Or how like some people when they eat cilantro they taste soap.
