Cardona, Spain and Venice, Italy

My family and I are heading to Spain and Italy this coming summer (2011). We are spending one week in Cardona, Spain, and another in Italy, most likely Venice. My question is about shaving products that can be found readily in either city. We will be spending some time in Barcelona.

Items I hope to obtain:

La Toja cream
Valobra stick
Palmolive stick
Cella soap
Musgo products (Portuguese)
Monsavon (French)

Any tips or other products I might find while in these cities? Would I find the French or Portuguese products in Spain or Italy?

Any tips at all about shaving gear or travel would be greatly appreciated!!

Musgo will be tricky to find in both Italy and Spain. I also don't think you'll find Monsavon in either country. La Toja is available in Spain only. I bought it at the department store El Corte Ingles. Try some Floid aftershaves (Spanish or Italian) while you're at it...

Thank you...

Forgot about Floid stuff...

Disappointed Portugal isn't on the itinerary. I'd like to get some O Melhor and 444 AS balm. Vintagescent.com may be my option there...

My advice would be to try to buy most of those products over the internet before you head off on your holiday. Your family will enjoy more time with you, there will be less stress, you can take more photos to share with us and you will be able to look around those great cities more without having to run to a shaving store. Of course, if any of the products really appeal, you can always purchase a larger size as a souvenir whilst in Europe!
The fact that internet shopping has made the world a much smaller place means that nearly all of those products are available to us at the click of a button- IMHO, your family will appreciate your wonderful trip together even more if you don't need to race off shopping.

If you go to Barcelona, I have a GREAT tip for you:

Monsavon is only available in France, so forget it.
LaToja is easily available at spanish supermarkets.

As for the portuguese Musgo product line, I think you can find it in Barcelona at this store (but I'm not sure):

Excellent!! Thanks for all of the tips!! I'll try not to take too much time away from the family looking for these great products! It's part of the culture, right?

Try Emulsión Myrsol. It's a pre-shave balm. Hard as hell to find, mind you, but easy to look for at barbershops.

Ganiveteria Roca, in Barcelona, have an impressive assortment of DE Razors and badger brushes. If you go to the Cardona I know, it's just a car ride away from Barcelona.

Enjoy!

Google says Cardona is an hour and 20 minute ride to Barcelona. It is to the NW of Barcelona. There is a walled in castle, and we will be staying in a smaller castle there. Sound like the same Cardona?

And I will look for the Myrsol! Thanks!
