A few months back I posted that while at Mertz Apothocary in Chicago, I smelled the Captain's Bay Rum aftershave only to find it too strong. A friend who swears by CBR sent me a sample and said to give it a real test, not simply to smell it out of the bottle. The package arrived, I opened it up, put some on and nothing. I called up my friend and said, look thanks for trying, but this isn't really my thing. Fast forward to last week, I started shaving at night, I've got a nice scotch in one hand and have just finished a terriffic BBS shave. I pour some cold water on my face and am contemplating what AS to use. The CBR is just staring at me- I'm thinking, I didn't like it, why would should I put it on, but I do........
Holy hell, how did I miss this. I didn't even give this AS a chance. I just put it on in the middle of the day, and worse, not even after shaving. Long story short, I finished off what my friend sent me and bought a bottle this week. This AS, for me at least, completes a shave and gives a feeling like no AS I've tried, and I've tried quite a few. Anyway, from now on I'm not jumping to any conclusions before giving a product a really fair try.
