What's new

Caprica

Anyone watching the premier?

I know that there were a few BSG fans back in the day.... So far it looks interesting, hope it doesn't disappoint.

I will absolutely be following this. I'm terrible about watching things when they air, but I record everything. You can guess where I'll be tomorrow afternoon :thumbup1:

This definitely has potential. The story of the origin of the Cylons is very cool, but there are a couple of aspects that I think will be pretty interesting to follow.

One is the religious aspect...The threat posed by a monotheistic cult on a polytheistic, yet highly secular society... The other is how the inter-planetary/colonial divisions and beliefs affect Caprican society. It looks good:thumbup1::thumbup1:

I watched the pilot episode when it came on last spring and liked it. I don't have cable so can't watch the series with any regularity but i'm definitely gonna keep an eye on it.

At least this time around they have a known goal. I just hope it's successful enough that they won't pull another *** is Kyra Thrace? on us.

It was a little scary the way it started off with those kids. Had me worried it would be another lame high school soap opera. The original really was a soap opera, after all. But after they killed off two of them, I settled down. It came together neatly at the end. I'm definitely looking forward to watching it.

Adama is a proud name of peasants. Adama!

I watched it this morning. It has lots of potential. After BSG I'll pretty much anything connected to the original story line a shot. Lets hope it stays entertaining.

A little heavy-handed with the allegory, even for the makers of BSG. As a former BSG fan, I have to suspend my belief that the series will culminate in a lame, *** tie-up of loose ends. All this has happened before, as they say.

Maybe they'll figure out a way to inject some space porn. Space porn cures everything.

While I loved Battlestar Galactica (much to the chagrin of my wife, I have my Katee Sackhoff autograph on my desk) , I don't think that I could ever find myself getting into Caprica. Prequels often do that for me. Something tells me it will be what Enterprise was to Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and Star Trek: The Next Generation.

However, looking at a civilization much like our own - on the verge of high technology while playing hopscotch around the moral boundaries - should be interesting.

Even Babylon 5 sucummed to space porn in the end. Took B5 5 seasons to get there, and it was more like virtual space porn, but still.

I have more hope that we won't get a *** ending. Much more worried that we all fall asleep way before then.

Let's just hope it's not the one you forgot. Except for a few Borg episodes, Enterprise was a HUGE step from that.
