Can't use blade more than once

I can't seem to get more than one shave out of the razor blade. I've tried derbys, seven o'clock yellows, silver blue, personna blue and red, Astra platinum. I seem to get a good first shave and halfway through the second it seems to go dull. Can you recommend a blade for me or give me any advice. My beard is not really full but a lil wirery I guess.

How's your lather? If it's not slick enough you will have a pulling sensation.

I am thinking that it is your lather or technique. You should be able to get 3-4 shaves out of most blades. What razor and soap/cream are you using?

Dunno what's going on are u doing anything like corking to dull the razor pre-use? My Polsilver si gives me 5-6 shaves per blade

Coming from carts if I only get one use from a blade then that's ok. :p Hope you find d out what it is. I use my Gsb at least twice then bin them.

If I were you, I'd just find the cheapest blade I could comfortably shave with and buy a bunch, use them one day and into the bin they go. Bestshave has large-ish quantities of a few blades for very low prices. Ebay too.
If you heart is set on durable blades, Perma-Sharp Super get great reviews for longevity and they are sharp.

Respectfully, I would urge you to work on your technique. It seems virtually impossible that a blade, even a second tier blade, should not give more than one shave. Suggestions would be to prep your face better before lathering, and concentrate on having a nice thick lather, not a light and foamy lather.

My stubble isn't that thick (I don't think) and maybe a lil wiry. I shave after a good hot shower. And using a pre shave oil. Then I face lather. First shave with a blade is usually great then the second I get a lot of irritation. I'm using a super speed red tip right now. With the personna red I got my best shave yet on Sunday but today using same blade I got hacked up. Oh I shave every other day as well.

Corking is running the cutting edge of the blade through a cork.

It sure sounds like you're doing the right things. Not sure how blade angle or technique would get you a great first shave and a bad second one...

A video of you shaving might help, otherwise I think we're all just sitting here thinking "hmm... that just doesn't make any sense"

You may have a tough beard that dulls blades quickly. There are those who only use a blade once. Find the least expensive blades that work for you and use them once. Everyone is different. Don't worry about how many shaves others get per blade.

My lather seems pretty slick but not as slick as I'd like.
And what do you mean by how is my stubble

I think that's part of the problem. What's preventing you from having a slicker lather? Have you tried Uberlather as a quick test?
