Can anyone ID this German Single Ring Clone?

Okay, I've got a pic of the razor in general on its box. I also have a close-up of the maker's stamp on it. On the other end of the bottom of the baseplate it does say "Made in Germany."

It looks like an "HP" to me, in script, perhaps.

I don't see anything on the database that approximates those letters, however.

I was thinking it was "IP" or "NP"

The lines between the letters that would make it "NP" or "HP" sorta look like scratches. Not as well defined as the letters.

That they look like scratches may be more the flash and angle I'm holding it. I think they're part of the etching based on my viewings "live" so to speak. That said, they could just be part of the flourish and not the letters themselves.

Hopefully someone out there has seen this before because I'm stumped! :)

It could be AP. Hopefully one of our resident experts will be along to tell us all they've seen it before and know what it is. I can't even think of companies manufacturing razors at the time who would be AP, IP, HP or otherwise.

the bad thing about german razors is that a ton were made during chaotic times in germany and many werent labeled, there are 100'000's of them without markings and it makes it hard to id even when initials or some markings are available, i looked up this razor in my waits compedium and cant id it...this is one of thousands that cant be pinpointed right away.

Excellent information. Thanks, Alex!

The swirl, that starts at the bottom of the left letter and that proceeds clockwise, over the top and around to the bottom of the right letter,,,,

is it connected to the base of the left letter ?

If so, it might be a flourish as part of the left letter, which still makes it hard to identify.
