Got this red/black set the other day. Miraculous shape, but it does not fit the case correctly. I think this is because of the base plate. Unlike all the ones I have previously seen, this one is not slotted, but is flat. What do we think?

Is that possibly the milled base plate instead of the pressed base plate?

All the similar ones I saw on Achim's site had a slotted base. I could not see another razor that had a similar base to this one.
It's a red and black set with a New Deluxe head. Very nice find!

Another note on the New DeLuxe, some say they're the best of the best. AsylumGuido has stated he feels it's the best shaving head Gillette ever made.
Having only shaved with three varieties of the New DeLuxe head myself, and only a few times (including yesterday), I can see where Guido is coming from, and think he's most likely right (which he generally is when it comes to Gillettes!).
