Buying my first DE Safety Razor, but want something different.Help

Hi,
I am new here and new to wet shaving. I have been searching a lot and see some really neat Bob's Razor Works Stuff. Can someone tell me where to get one? or One similar? I am in the market for my first razor, but want something different. Please share with me some ideas/thoughts. P.S. This will be my first razor purchase.

Thx

I would hold off on the different stuff

The BST is always a good bet, if google does not provide you with an answer.

First razor suggestions,

Edwin jagger de89

Schick Krona

Gillette fat handle tech

Gillette NEW, bar handle, short comb.

Goodluck sir

If you really want something different, check out the Hobbyist/Vendor Classified section:

There is some truly awesome stuff there. One example: UFO handles. Dig around for yourself and have some fun.

I just want to endorse the views above. Your tastes will likely change as you develop skill and acquire knowledge. You may find that you become interested in single edge razors or straights but you won't know until you gather experience. I say master the seemingly dull and ordinary and then branch out.

Welcome to B&B. Unfortunately Bob is no longer with us but a look now and then in bst may nab you one of his awesome works of art. Otherwise as suggested above.

My first DESR broke after about a year and a half (I think it was a cheap imitation, I bought it abroad) and I got the Edwin Jagger DE 89 and I've been pretty happy with it so far (not such a bug fan of the Derby Extra blades it came with but I just got my razor sample pack I ordered).

Edwin Jagger's are the best shaving investment I have ever made, hands down the perfect DE razor. The perfect blade angle. I have tried vintage and modern. The best DE out there is the Edwin Jagger and it is very reasonably prices. ( A great combo is with wilkinson swords )

Again, endorse everything said above; get a good quality DE first, see how you get on with it, then go for different. Seen many good things said about the DE89 - not got one yet, but I think there's one on its way via SWMBO for my birthday.

Get a Gillette Tech (not different) and pair it with a UFO handle or a Tradere handle (different).

Or, if you really want different right from the start, I highly recommend the Stahly Live Blade razor.
