Buying indian blades on ebay

Has anyone had any experience with buying say the 7 o'clock blacks or green from Ebay sellers? Im just interested in the shipping, and if any of you have had Success... because they are realtively well priced on there, with free shipping on most orders

TIA:thumbup:

I bought some from this guy - shreemanshreemati. Notice I am in Canada.

The order got here just fine and I didn't have to pay extra duties etc. The only problem was that he sent too few blades and was unresponsive when I tried contacting him. Eventually I had to give him -ve feedback. He seems to be out of business now.

I purchased from this seller also. I bought the 300 Gillette 7 O'Clock Permasharp Stainless Smooth Shave Saloon Parlour Pack. It took about 12 days. I was not hit by any duty or extra fees. I almost ordered the Gillette Blacks until I saw these Green blades. The price per blade was too low to pass up.

Cheers

Go to razorsdirect.com and select 105 7 o'clock blacks for $24.99, change the quantity to 3, then enter discount code "savings" for an additional 15% discount. I just bought 315 blacks for $63 and change with free shipping. There's no better deal.

Thats nice, but thats free shipping to the US, not to CANADA
Plus I never said that I wanted to buy 300 blades in one shot
thanks for the heads up though

You did not mention how many blades you wanted to buy in any of your posts. I commented because I have used the same ebay store as edw. Does it really matter if I ordered 300? The same merchant sells Gillette razor blades in much smaller quantities - I really doubt the shipping time or "experience" is going to be any different.

They been out of stock of gillette greens and blacks for a while now, but I would agree with you they seem to be reasonably priced.

You're right, I didn't mention how many I was looking to buy, and I really appreciate your input, it was very helpful for me as you know its sometimes a pain to order things, I have the added issue of being from a SMALL rural community, the nearest city is an hours drive from here, so having a parcel delivered to my Home is very difficult, so I always try to have everything I order come by mail, but I'm diligent and have pretty good luck so far, but I've only ordered from the US or Canada. I've never ordered from overseas so it's a little sketchy for me

Thanks to everyone who has commented

It appears that this excellent seller is gone, at least by now. Exactly when I want to order more black blades.

I just got that pack of 300 Gillette green Permasharp (for US$ 35.50). I have found these blades to be winners.

I loaded my Muhle R41 with one of them (the blade before was a red Personna from Israel). This is the razor I use to test new blades because I found it to be the razor where the characteristics of the blade (sharpness, smoothness) can better be felt.

Even in a such aggressive razor as the R41 the blade was so smooth that I could not feel it. Gave me a nice 2 pass shave.

I would say it is maybe a tiny less smooth than Gillette black indian (the top blade in smoothness in my opinion), but still some of smoothest blades available, and costing roughly half the price of the blacks.

RazorsDirect sells the Russian Greens ("Super Stainless"), which are not the same as the Indian Greens ("Permasharp"). The Russian Greens are uncoated Gillette (Russian) Yellows ("Sharp Edge").
