What's new

Bull Mastiff with the tech head.

I have had the bull Mastiff for about six months now, and have only used it with the NEW head. I found it to bee a little too unagressive. Twenty Minutes ago i tried it with a Tech head, and man am I impressed.

So, anybody else tried this with the tech head? Right now I am absolutley loving it.

What ae your thoughts?

I would think the tech would be much less aggressive than the new. :001_huh:

The NEW head is basically a Tech open comb. Just look how the safety bar is shaped vs. the new teeth shape as well as the blade gap. I don't own either currently although I have tried both and can honestly say that I could most likely shape myself better with the tech. With the NEW head I'd be fighting the angle to not get raked by the teeth and the Tech I'd just go to town. For gillette open comb I do prefer the old type.

This is more forum "misinformation" if anything the Tech is a closed comb NEW, since the NEW preceded the Tech by a decade or more.
Why did Gillette drop the NEW for the Tech as the "Basic" razor?
My opinion is that the Tech is much cheaper to produce, while they use the same caps the base plate on a NEW is either an extrusion or a hot forging then the combs are milled.
The Techs base plate is a much simpler stamping from sheet metal.
Then as now Gillette has always been more interested in maximizing profits then producing the "Best a Man can get".

I never mentioned that the tech came before the new?
Techs cheaper? This is common knowledge.
