Brush Restore Question / MMs

I have a handle that I'm boring out that measures 15/16ths of an inch, which according to my calculation equals 23.8mm in diameter. I would like to install the correct size knot, but can someone recommend whether the knot should be 23mm, or would 22 or 24 be the right choice?

Thanks.

TGN knots come in even mm numbers and I've been getting 2mm less than the hole size. It's worked great for me, but I've only done 3-4 so far.

22mm would give you a shorter loft if thats what you prefer, but a 24mm knot would require you to bore it out even more so it wouldnt look like a brush with a big knot sticking out. I'd recommend 22mm, just so the knot sits better and requires less work on your part. Good Luck!

Always leave at least 1 mm over the specified knot size by any knot maker in case that they go over by 1/2 mm on the large size.

I have put 22 mm in a 24 mm hole with no problems because the flair from the knot base to where the knot leaves the handle will fill in the space.

Good fortune.

It's not the side of the plug you have to worry about its the bulge above the plug. I'd go with a 22mm and you still might have to open the hole up a little depending on how deep you set it.
