Brush Recommendation

OK, I know that I am bucking the trend toward short-loft, strong-backboned brushes here, but I am actually looking for something very different than that. I get good scrubbing and backbone from my Rooney 3/1 Super, great softness and enough size from my Savile Row 3824, and fun from a scrubby and fairly soft and small restoration I just finished of an Ever-Ready C40 with a TGN 20mm Finest knot set to 45mm. My budget Vie-Long horse hair is too floppy and thin, though workable with an O-ring installed.

Now I am looking for something with a longer loft, for bowl lathering, something to paint lather on my face with, something with the soft tips of the SR but less of a lather hog.
Any suggestions? Kent? Shavemac silvertip? Others?

Thank you

Sounds like you're missing a shavemac from your rotation. There are infinite possibilities from bernd at shavemac.com. He can make any custom brush you want. I just got a custom brush from him last week. Something to think about.

I'd get a Kent BK8 or a Vie-Long 16510. Both super soft brushes, with little to no backbone that you absolutely have to bowl lather to even get lather.

Custom Shavemac Finest with 21mm diameter and 55mm to 58mm loft or a Rudy Vey handle of your choice with a Grade A Silvertip set at about 55mm to 58mm.

+1...I don't know about the "infinite" possibilities, but certainly a lot. Drop Bernd an email at Shavemac and tell him what you are looking for. If he can't make it (or have it in stock), it probably doesn't exist

I recently, and for the very first time, used a shaving stick (Arko) and face lathered that soap using a Kent BK8. Fantastic. Sheer luxury.

+1 on the Shavemac. (Though that Polo 10 would treat you well, but may be shorter loft-wise than you're seeking.)
