Brush losing bristles

My favorite Thater Silver Tip is starting to lose bristles. I've had it for about 10 years and haven't done a good job taking care of it ie. cleaning, drying, etc. Any way to salvage, or at this point is the bristle loss an inevitable consequence due to knot rot? I've cleaned it with soap and let it dry etc, and that seems to be helping a bit.

Welcome to B&B! I see you joined yesterday. Recall Thater glue failure problems coming up with other B&B members as noted in the thread linked below starting with post #7. Thater responded to @beg033 , owner of the damaged brush, noting that it was irrepairable damage due to soap scum (lime soap was the term used) and required full replacement of the knot. Note that since then Thater has gone out of business. Link to this thread is posted below.

Good luck with this. Hopefully you have a backup brush or two.

P.S. If you are attached to the handle @Rudy Vey is the best contact here regarding options around having a replacement knot installed.

Welcome! How many bristles? 2, 10, 20 per shave? Donut hole in the middle?

If it's just a few you can try combing out the loose ones when dry. Doing that helped out with an older Simpson that shed 3 or 4 each time I used it.

Frustrating, isn't it?
P.S. I understand Thäter is no longer in business.

That brush (a 4125/4 Two Band Silvertip), Sir, is still one of my favorites. The knot has come out 2-3 times since then, but I've been able to glue it back with silicone and keep using it. I hope this solution lasts! Next time it comes out, I might try using a two-part epoxy now that I have some experience with that method as well. Thater was a good brand, but their knot gluing was problematic, and their customer service was terrible in my experience. Despite this, I do wish they hadn't gone out of business; some of their brushes will definitely be missed.

I've starting losing 3 or 4 bristles with every shave now. No real gaps in the brush yet. I'm thinking to take the knot out and maybe trying a re-glue of the base. Probably a bad idea, but eventually the brush will be toast anyway.

If you really like handle, it can reknotted. Might be a fun weekend project or you could get an artisan like Rudy Vey to do it.

Ten years is long life depending on use.

The brush in question. And yes, I abused it for over a decade!
