brush for goatee wearers

I'm looking for a small enough badger brush that is small enough to face lather in circular motions during the times I'm wearing a goatee.

any recommendations?

I am still new to wetshaving, only less then 2 weeks in, but I had trouble lathering on my face cuz I couldn't get good circular motions due to my beard. My solution? I switched to lathering in a bowl and it has worked MUCH better so far.

I use my Rooney 1/1, but I almost feel like it's a tiny bit too big. A stubby 1 would be perfect, but they're sold out...I don't know about the Savile Rows either, because though I haven't tried them, I've heard they have pretty tall lofts relative to their knot size...that could make them a bit floppy

I am currently wearing a beard and the Saville Row 3120 works great... as mentioned above I'm sure the 3118 would also be a great brush.

I'm wearing a goatee and the QED Select Pure 22mm works fine for me. Of course my wife says I have a big head.

If you're looking for a small brush the Wee Scott by Simpson's is the smallest. You may just want to lather with a normal size brush and then outline your beard with your fingers before shaving. That's what I do.

+1

I do that to, but only when I'm sporting a beard of some sort.

I have a goatee and my C&E Super Badger works fine. I get some lather on my beard. But it just rinses off when I'm done shaving.

I have a full beard...lather it up with my cheeks and neck. The Wee is a great brush for face lathering...and if I did not want to lather my beard it would work for that too.

I rather like having my beard lathered up...serves as a repository for lather and softens and lightly scents my beard too.

You sure you're in the right place?

Clean cheeks and neck...seems like the right place to me.

I am ahead of the game on beards...they are coming back. Clean faces are on the way out.

I use my Plisson HMW with horn handle in a #10 or #8. I have a goatee and partial beard and these two brushes let me "paint" the lather on...

I, too, had a similar problem, only the areas I shave are not the same. I have an Amish style beard (no mustache and brought lower on the cheeks). I initially switched to getting the lather going in a mug before putting the brush to my face. This helped alot, but still did not totally solve the issue. My Vulfix was just too big for smaller areas. Eventually I picked up the Simpsons Best Badger Case. This has been wonderful! The brush is much denser and stiffer than the Vulfix, without being scratchy at all. It also much smaller. This enables me to lather up smaller areas without getting a bunch of excess lather in my nose. Moreover, I am able to get better lather with the Simpsons than with the Vulfix even though the Simpsons is smaller and technically a lower grade of badger hair.

I would highly recommend the Simpsons Best Badger Case.
