Brush and/or razor stands???

Okay I'm a newbie to the DE world. I've ordered all the gear I think I'll need to get started and I'm waiting impatiently for it to arrive. But I have a question about a brush and/or razor stand.

These things appear to be outrageously expensive on all the online stores and auction sites I go to. I mean really $35-$100 for something to hang a brush and/or razor from???

So my question is two-fold.

What have you smart and resourceful people used as a substitute for a high-dollar stand? I bet someone out there has just the perfect thing for this that my newbie mind can't imagine.

Or the second part... if there isn't a substitute out there where can one go to find one for cheap?

Thank you!

To clarify, are you asking because you want a brush stand, or because you think you need a brush stand?

Some chaps like them, but they really just make your shave gear look nice. Personal preference and all that.
Brushes dry fine (some suggest perhaps even better) without them.

I recently bought one from west coast shaving that I love. Its the omega chrome brush/razor stand and for 17dollars its not to bad.

You don't really need either. The brush will dry just fine if you set it on the handle...just make sure to shake it out well. If you want a cheap razor holder, a nice tooth brush stand will work.

Hi and welcome to the board.:thumbup1:

To answer your question. You do not need a stand for your brush or razor. You may want a stand but you really don't need one!

If you still feel you may want a stand I'm sure there are plenty more inventive people on here who have devised how to make cheaper version than bought.

Good luck anyhow.:001_smile

Thanks for the quick response guys. I asked thinking I needed a stand then read more on the forums about how they aren't really necessary. Now I'm thinking I'll need one anyway just to keep my wife off my back about "cluttering up" the bathroom (even though it's always her stuff everywhere but that argument is probably for a different forum...).

I'll check out those links and look around for alternatives like the toothbrush holders!
