British Gillette HD Rocket equivalents

Firstly hello!

Been using a DE for years have no issues with lather etc or any other probs (at the moment!)

I am currently using an uber cheap plastic DE from Boots(Uk chemist) that does the job and has done for the past 4 years!

Anyway I've always fancied a metal razor and started looking for a british UK razor, whilst searching found this forum.

Now onto my questions,

I am looking for a :

Gillette HD Rocket Brit pat 694093

I believe that it is a pretty good razor and meets the requirements of made in the UK and metal.

Are there any other british razors worth looking at?

Is the best place to buy on ebay or here?

Buying from the B/S/T in a forum is good, you'll get a fair price for the condition and model of that razor, plus that you won't have to deal with the possible relative uncertainty of buying off ebay.

On the bay sometimes razors appear without the designation, e.g. just "Gillette" instead of the full title "Gillette HD Rocket" and through this way you may be able to snatch one in a good price.

The Rockets are very nice shavers, especially the HD and the No. 58. You won't regret getting one - even if you discover it is not for you, you can always put it for sale later and get your money back. The No. 58 is more expensive to acquire.

+1 on the Rocket HD and the #58.

Also consider an Aristocrat Jr. and the Aristocrat #16 or #21.

From me the British Long Comb New is a fantastic shaver.

Thanks for the links lars7 I have seen the shaveden but not the other.


I now think it's a choice between the Aristocrat Junior or the Rocket.
