What's new

Boker Piccadilly

Hi gents,

I'm thinking to buy a Boker Piccadilly razor from Jarrod at The Superior Shave, but i can't find any information about these razors. I know they are new...
So, anyone tried these razors ?

The new Boker's are junk in my opinion. If you still feel compelled to buy one, PM me - I'd be happy to sell mine. It is the higher end horn handled one, 6/8 with a pattern down the spine.

Why was it junk? I just pulled the trigger (literally 10 minutes ago) and am having buyers remorse from your comments. Are they not in line with a Dovo or TI? I already have a TI.

I too would like to know how they qualify as "junk". I've heard the same about Wacker, Revisor, Dovo and the list goes on. Granted, I'm sure there are bad units put out by all the companies but imo it's doubtful they are all "junk".

No disrespect intended.

A while back I had a new King Kutter - honed well, shaved great.
Not so long ago I had a New Celebrated - honed well, shaved great.
Im looking forward to trying one of their extra hollow razors next.

I corresponded with the folks at Straigt Razor Designs and they have full confidence in the Boker and I have no reason to doubt them. I will give you a full report.

These new Bokers look nice and seem competitively priced, but I wonder if they are cast and not forged like the vintage ones? I only buy nos vintage or mint vintage myself as new razors frequently have issues. I am sure if you are patient a nice vintage Boker will come your way.

Believe me even vintage razors have plenty of issues.

I would even say the really mint NOS ones have more of a chance to have issues since they haven't been weeded out like the "used" ones. IMO of course :).

Really? I guess your experiences don't mirror mine. Sometimes the scales can be warped but never had a problem with a vintage blade from a renowned manufacturer. Perhaps you can enlighten me?

Thanks for all the relplies guys.
I ordered the razor on friday and today is already in my country. Jarrod is a very nice guy. I'm sure that there will be no quality problems regarding razors bought from him.
I will post my impressions after i receive it.

I used a moderm Boker King Cutter (not mine, but from a friend) and it was an excellent razor, with a finish better than my Dovo. I want to get one for Christmas.
