I picked this one up today. It's in very good condition and the box, although not perfect, still has a glossy exterior.

That is a beauty!!!
I feel that vintage Bokers / King Cutters are highly underrated compared to other big names like dubl duck, pumas etc...
Enjoy..
Nah, theres just much more Bokers available as compared to DD and Pumas.
Sure but they shave just as well or even better than pumas or dd IMO
really? i must hone the rest of my bokers and try them out then. so far none has been just 'good'.
that's the problem with having many razors, they're fun to get and have, but i don't get to use them all
Here is a link to a Boker King Cutter in the "original" box , that LOOKS original .
See what I mean now fellas ? This heavily worked with , dingy brown looking creature ? That is an old looking box .
Can you spot any shiny new gold lettering on the box ????
Course the razors might be made at different times . Maybe yours is not as vintage as the one I found .

Here is another one . I see 1926 stamped on the blade . Could this be close to a made on date ? If so being 83 years old ?
And the box looking like 8 minutes old ? What gives ? Could these be "possible" Chinese copies ? Things like vintage razors and a fresh looking box don't add up . Look at the fresh lettering on the box . Just talking out loud .
But must say the blade looks good .

Chinese copy? I purchased mine from a 65 year old gun, pocketknife and antique fly rod and reel collector who happened to also buy the occasional straight razor that he saw and liked spanning 30+ years. He purchased that Boker and this Hess #44 for years. Personally, I think the myth of China copying vintage straight razors of any kind including the boxes is just that; a myth. I'm not saying it's not technically possible. But if there were fakes being produced and for sale, where would people be getting them from?
