Bob's Razor Works.....WOW!

I ordered a custom handle from Cooncatbob a few weeks ago, a replacement for my Muhle R106 handle which I've deemed to be too slick to handle when wet and too light. I requested a Bull Mastiff handle with a 3 3/8 inch length, to match the stock Muhle. Bob sent it out the other day and it took 2 days to go all the way across country. It came today.

Oh. My. God.

It's beautiful. Workmanship is flawless. And the heft on this thing is out of this world. It makes my HD Slant seem light in comparison. I wouldn't be surprised if it's triple the weight. Consequently, putting the Muhle head on it means it's entirely bottom heavy. I don't know how that'll work out while shaving yet, but this is truly a man's hunk of metal!

Seriously, if you've been wondering about Bob's stuff for awhile, I can tell you that it's nice. Very nice. As good as anything you get from the EJ or Muhle factory in terms of plating and quality.

I'll post pics and more reaction after I shave with it.

My Nickel plated handles are heavy because they're made from solid brass bar stock not tubing.
The Name alone Bull Mastiff should be enough to inform one that this is no light weight handle.
But to those who find the BM handles too heavy for them a new batch of Black Anodize Ultra Light handles went in this past Monday and I hope they'll be ready next week.
I hope they don't screw them up like the 1st batch which were covered in uncolored fleck and had to be unanodized and redone.
I have 30 handles due, 15-3 1/8 BMs, 5- 2 3/4 Stubby BMs, 5- 3 3/4 BM XL and 5- 3/14 Improved handles.
I already have 11 preorders and ony have 2 stubbys and 3 XL still available

I was pretty much over my RAD, but decided to let SWMBO get me a Bull Mastiff handle for Christmas.

That thing (mated with a nickel-replated long-tooth NEW head) is simply badass.

Can I say badass here?

Also, being a local, I have had the opportunity to check out Bob's shop not once, but twice. :thumbup1:

I can attest in all good faith that Bob is not only a terrific craftsman, but also one of the nicest guys you'd ever get to meet.

BTW check out Bob's sig for the link to his site and pics.
