Boar's Hair Brush Recommendation for a Silver Tip Badger User

Semogue Owners Club Boar from Vintagescent.com. Hands down the best Boar brush at least to me with the Semogue 1800/1305 coming in a close 2nd (the 1305 is a painted handle while the 1800 is wood).

i own a semogue 620 and soc boar....both took a few weeks to break in, but in both cases it was worth it. i face lather for what its worth. i sold my badgers after obtaining these brushes

I bought a boar SOC and do like the brush and it has soften up quite a bit. The brush does build great lather but does not feel as good on the face as my badgers. Current fave brush Duke 2 in best but I am warming up to my Duke 2 2-band.

+1 still breaking in 1305, but love it!

I love my Semogue 1800. It's my favorite brush. I find it works well with both creams and soaps, it really shines with croaps, and works equally well for either face or bowl lathering. If you want to try something completely different, a huge brush like the Omega Pro 49 can work wonders with hard soaps.

I have tried a handful of Semogues. I have a 2011 LE FB1 and a SOC, but my favorite is my 610. I face lather soaps, and the 610 makes short work of them.

So based on this thread, you guys are pretty much split between the 1800 / 1305, 610 / 620, 2000. The SOC seems more popular. A couple of Omega guys. I expected more Omega supporters. Sounds like if I get a Semogue, I can't go wrong.

Well I like shorter loft brushes so i suggest semogue 620 or if you want to spend a little less get the 1460

I got the 610 and 1460 as my first boars after 10 or so badgers. Can't go wrong with these two. I'd lean towards the 610, only because of the handle, it has more weight and it looks and feels awesome. Afaik the knot is identical.

Have you read this thread? How about the first post? Feel like waiting just a little longer?

I couldn't help but notice that item for sale during the auction, but haven't found any other info about that brush since then. I can only imagine that the cat will be out of the bag soon?

Is there any more info available on this yet?
