Blade Review: Dorco Titan

The Dorco Titans are amongst my favourite blades together with KCG and Feathers. I find them to be smooth, comfortable and sufficiently sharp as well. So far longevity has been on par with my usual experience. 7-10 shaves can be obtained when paired with the right razor.

I think it’s a very natural and understandable tendency for people to let previous opinions bias their own. It was true that the Korean-made Dorcos were mediocre blades, and I think that this bias still carries over when people use the new ones made in the state-of-the-art facility in Vietnam. On the other hand, I might have a biased opinion in the other direction because when I saw “made in a new state-of-the-art facility,” I expected them to be better than blades made on decades-old machinery.

As with everything, the truth probably lies somewhere in the middle. The Dorcos are fine blades, not the best, but not the worst, either. They are good enough for most people under most daily circumstances.
