Muhle it works well as a face latherer and will dry faster which is a big plus when traveling.

+1 I had concerns about my small Shavemac sufficiently drying so I bought a synthetic Muhle (after reading all of GDCarrington's posts on the subject). It has been fantastic on the road and at home.

I don't subscribe to a dedicated travel brush ideology.

When traveling, I use a brush from my normal rotation. I've developed an affinity for my Simpson Commodore 2 which I cart around in plastic tube with holes poked in it for drying. My Vie-Long horse works well too, but any brush in my rotation would, as I do nothing different on the road than in my own home. Enjoy!

I just received a Muhle (V2) turnback brush which I bought with the intent of using it mostly for travel w/sticks. On its maiden voyage I simply was astounded at how well this brush works. I bought the brass/chrome version for a couple dollars more (I had previously owned a similar brush in V1 with the aluminum case) and am very glad I did. The chrome brass case is significantly taller and a bit heavier. Great for those like me with big hands. Grabbed a Palmolive stick (because that was the one closest at hand) and egad!! Lather just exploded all over the place. Nice, big, copious mounds of thick, fluffy suds whipped up in seconds. The brush itself felt nothing short of luxurious to the point of decadent. Yeah, I'm a fan!!!

Must mention the best price (like significantly cheaper than US vendors) comes from Connaught who got me mine in 8 days order to delivery.
If you want a travel brush that is a top performer, easy to pack, dries extremely quick...look no further

I just finished an eight-week trip (I just retired). After a lot of back and forth, trying various brushes, I took a new Kent Infinity Silvertex synthetic brush, thinking that its quick drying time was most important when traveling. I hated it. Instead of holding onto the water and soap, like any badger or boar brush would, it dribbled water down my arm every time I used it. I couldn't wait to get back to my badger and boar brushes! Next time, I am definitely taking one of my Omega or Semogue boar brushes instead.

I'm travelling now and using my Duke 2. I've always loved this brush, and it's grest for travelling. By the way, I put it in a pill bottle when I travel -makes a perfect travel c ase for it.

It's not on the list and I don't have one yet, but the Omega 11047 is what first came to my mind... this will likely be my next brush to replace a Shea Moisture Pure Badger which I relegated to travel use, but it's not even good enough for that.

Duke 1 fits in Simpson Travel Case ; also , Case , Classic CL1 , Duke 1 , 55 , Harvard 1 , & Wee Scot .

I solved that problem by purchasing a large shaving brush travel tube with max diameter 1 3/4" (44mm) and length 4 1/2" (115mm). So i can take with me any of my shaving brushes. Simpson's travel case measures, 34mm internal diameter and 92mm long with lid fixed, so it doesn't take a much more space in my wash bag.

I also use the Simpsons case brush with a dr Harris shave stick. Still breaking in the case but its wonderful so far.

Another vote for the Muhle synthetic. It is now residing in my shaving kit as the ONLY travel brush for me.
