Best TOBS Colonge-Scented Cream?

I'm looking to buy a TOBS product but I'm not sure what to get. Samples would cost me more than just getting a big tub, so I'm just going for the tub. I'd like to hear what everybody enjoys, and what the scents are like. Also, if the soaps are appreciably better please let me know.

I'm looking at:
Eton College
St. James
Mr. Taylor
Shave Shop

I'm also looking at Sandalwood, but I'm usually not a fan of most sandalwood scents. I really dislike Trumper's take. Edwin Jagger is very nice, but not really a true sandalwood.

personally, I can't get enough of the Mr Taylor scent. I haven't tried the others, but I find it goes great with my acqua di gio splash.
On a more bizarre note, it goes even better with my Lynx/Axxe africa.
Lathers a dream and doesn't cost a lot.

Mr. Taylors and Jermyn St. (the black jar) are my favorites. Mr. Taylors smells very close to T&H Grafton if you sniffed that one.

Ooh, Grafton was good. I liked Grafton, but I think I enjoyed Trafalger a bit more. I thought Jermyn Street was unscented. Isn't it a their sensitive version?

It is for sensitive skin but it is scented. They have another sensitive version in a tan jar and apparently there are two versions of that one: scented and unscented, you have no idea which one you get until you get it, they have the same UPC, the container looks the same, etc.

Eton makes a nice lather, but the scent is clean and light. Mr Taylor is my favorite ToBS scent so far. It's very strong. Sometimes I'll open the tub just to give it a whiff. I also like their Sandalwood which has a very strong scent. I haven't tried the Shave Shop or St James. So far the only ToBS I did not like was the one called Sensitive Skin. No scent and lousy shaves with that one.

Mr Taylor is the only one I have tried from your list and I love it. It's my favorite smelling shaving product.

Mr Taylors really is a great scent, in the cream that is. I wish the cologne and splash smelled like it but to me they do not, I was surprised and disappointed.

Some TOBS fans also say that they prefer the old formula with parabens, it smells and performs better according to them. The current version has been slightly reformulated to remove the parabens so it may have affected the scent somewhat.

I have and love both the Mr. Taylor and St. James varieties. Though they are both pretty strong scented, I find that the St. James is the stronger of the two. It irritates my nose a little bit sometimes, though I haven't found any other cream to do so. The performance of both is superb and sets the bar high for any other creams I try.

For what it's worth, the Mr. Taylor variety is my favorite scent of all the shave products I've tried.

I know that Mr. Taylor/Grafton are popular here, but to my nose, they're "meh." Eton College is a very pleasant fragrance to me, and is perfectly complemented by smell-alike cologne Body Kouros (black bottle).

Of those on your list, I have Mr. Taylor and Shaving Shop and they are top performers with fantastic scents. I have the Luxury Aftershave Balms of both of them as well and enjoy them very much.

Regards,

Doug

I have tried all of the TOBS varieties listed and I am an Eton College guy more so then Mr. Taylor; and if you talk about T&H, I am more 1805 than Grafton as well. To me the Eton College is much more masculine and less sweet smelling then Jermyn St and Mr. Taylor. I have not tried the after shave splashs or colognes so I can't comment on those but you can't go wrong with Eton college.

Yes this is true I have experienced both and the only difference to my eyes is the label it was slightly "oranger" on the unscented version (don't have the tubs to post pics) if you are looking to get the "hypoallergenic" version the only way to be sure is to email Taylors and ask for an unscented one.
