Best Silver Tip for the price?

I don't want to spend a lot of money, but I want a quality silver tip thats really soft against my face. What do you recommend?

Penworks knots are awesome. If you can, get a finest grade knot and set it in a vintage handle or a PVC pipe. That'd be around 20 bucks.
My other brush is a Rooney 1/1 in Super. The Penworks Xtra Dense finest knot, when set at the same loft as the Rooney Super, is softer at the tips, but has more backbone and is denser!
If you don't want as much backbone, you can get a longer loft.
If you don't wanna make a brush, I would definitely recommend a Rooney 1/1 in Super.

I don't know what your budget is, but, IMHO, the Shavemac silvertips at WCS are a bargain at the price. Pure luxury!!

I'd say bang for buck, QED has them for the least dough. However, I'd go for a Shavemac from WCS for in the 70-80 range.

Yeah, give us a budget and we can really help out.

The Shavemacs are awesome (from my experience and from reputation); the QEDs, and if you can spend more, the Saville Rows, come very highly recommended; I'd add Omegas, which some have argued are of lesser quality (and I kind of side with that argument), but are super soft. Right now, though, with some sales still on for Shavemacs (see West Coast Shaving), they're a compelling option.

In regards to budget, I'd say around $100. I posted another topic about a Shavemac and an Omega that I'm debating between. But other recommendations are certainly welcome.

If you're going boar, Omega would be a great option. But between Shavemac and Omega in a badger brush, I'd suggest the Shavemac.

If you're debating on silvertip badgers, I'd be looking at Shavemacs and Rooneys in the 100 dollar range.

OK. I saw your other thread in the meantime, too. FWIW, I have the Rooney 3/1, a Shavemac 177, and an Omega 6215 as a point of comparison.

I'd say a Shavemac is a hard-to-beat option. Depending on your other preferences (knot, etc), consider the 177 (23mm) or the 21mm. The Rooney Krevo mentioned is a great option, but the super hair, while certainly soft, isn't as soft as a Shavemac in Silvertip. The Omega's are lush; but, again, I do think my Shavemac is better quality, and I think that opinion generalizes to other guys here. All that said, I've bought & sold several brushes, and the Omega is one I'll probably keep. By reputation, you could also consider a Saville Row; a 3722 would fit in your budget, for example, as would any of the Select range of brushes. I think you'll be happy with any of these.
