Best shaving supply website in the UK?

I am looking for recommendations for shaving supplies here in the UK. I place all my orders online and have decided I no longer wish to give any of my hard earned money to the Traditional Shaving Company. They have a great range of products but my experiences ordering from them have been less than satisfactory (I have placed 3 orders so far). Main example been the order I placed a week ago, where I paid for first class postage and yet my products have not even been dispatched yet. They have taken my money, sent me a confirmation email on the day but thats been it!

This is the third order that has been slower than expected. So I need a new place to spend my cash.

FYI, Shaving.ie and Traditional Shaving are the same folks, or were at one time.

I would go with Connaught or Royal Shave.

Executive shaving are ok. There amazon site has free shipping on some items see here for there slection of Geo F trumper selection which has free shipping. http://www.amazon.co.uk/geo-f-trump...er&me=ARP7QSGTE402H&page=1&rh=k:geo f trumper
Also check out barber blades selection is a bit limited but free postage and well priced. Occasionally they have great specials. I got a big tub of prosaro for £3.50 which was 8 quid everywhere else. http://www.barberblades.co.uk/index.php?route=product/category&path=48
Shaving shack are good too. I'm not loyal to any one retailer. I just look for free postage and cheap prices. Hope the links are useful

I have always have great service by ordering directly from the source, most of the big names(the English ones anyway) have their own websites. Always get Simpson brushes and Shaving cream from Simpsons, Taylor's of Old Bond Street from their website, DR Harris have their own website etc Executive Shaving are good and give you a discount code with each order(redeemable on your next order)

Different sites for different items.

Simpson's website I found to have as cheap or cheaper prices and cheaper shipping than the other UK site I have bought from.
Unfortunately only discovered that recently after buying from another UK site.

I have made several purchases from Connaught (I have one package on the way from then now) and found them very good.

Prices for blades such as Feather are cheaper from an excellent (non UK) vendor well known on this forum or from one in Thailand I located through ebay.

Is there a reason why you want to limit yourself to UK vendors? Once you are stocked up you can shop around and order in advance so delivery speed shouldn't be a problem.

Connaught i've found to be excellent. Good choice of products, good customer service, good prices, quick delivery, even to Japan. I will definitely use them again.

Best one? Hard to say. I will, however, cast a vote for Connaught Shaving as I placed my last order there a few weeks ago. Prices were very competitive on both product and shipping. And, it only took about 10 days after order placement for it to arrive here in Texas from the U.K.

Someone posted on here how the UK Post is possibly intercepting and overcharging for VAT on international shipped orders into the UK a couple of weeks ago. If a UK resident orders from a UK site the VAT is calculated by the seller and likely won't be purposely inflated by the government in an attempt to force people to purchase in-country (at least that is the only reason I can come up for them to do that). IIRC the poster had $9 US (about $55 Hong Kong Dollars) shipped into the UK from Hong Kong and the UK Post assessed $28 in VAT charges to him.

Ouch!

Never had that problem down under. When I order from UK sites the VAT comes off at checkout and nothing goes back on when it comes into Oz.

Don't know how long that will last though if what you say is happening in the UK is true.

I have recently started to buy from Maguires barbershop based in the north east, they have a shop front on ebay where the vast majority of products are delivered free, great fast service too.

I got an email from them yesterday (seen as my order still has not shipped, nearly 10 days after I placed it).

Turns out the website was wrong, one of the items I ordered was not in stock and still is not. But they have an alternative, same product, different colour. Its just a shame its taken over a week for them to email me to tell me this. The money left my account ages ago. Order is currently in the post, should arrive tomorrow... when nobody will be in. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

No real apology or anything extra to heal the wounds. They have lost my business now, I will only order from them if I am desperate.

Shaving.ie is one of the best vendors there is, customer service is the name of the game.

+1 - Great customer service and good selection.
For US customers, they have very good prices (b/c excludes VAT) even with shipping and the obligatory charges from the credit card company for currency exchange.
Have ordered several times from them and will continue to do so. I was also happy when purchasing from Connaught.
