Best Shaving Soap

I am new to this type of shaving, so I was wondering what is the best soap to use? I really have no clue about any of this stuff lol.

First off welcome to B & B ! Best is very subjective so I'll just tell you my personal favorite. Mamma Bears (any scent you want) performs wonderful.

As Scott said, this will yield 1,000 different responses. My short list is Mitchell's Wool Fat, Tabac, Martin De Candre and L'Occitane Cade.

As a beginner, I recommend Cella or Tabac as far as soaps. They won't break the bank and they are very forgiving when it comes to building lather.

Proraso, Tabac, Palmolive shave stick and Col Conk. All cheap and good.

Tabac is a good starting point at a relatively cheap price. The performance is to be used as a base to judge others.

There are lots and lots of choices.One soap I wish I would have tried months ago is LaToya and I believe it can be purchased at www.vintagescent.com .It is only available in a stick but face lathering with it is part if what makes it great.

Thanks for all of the responses. I have no idea what I will pick regarding a soap or a brush. I have never used any of it before so I was hoping to make a pretty good first choice.
