Best shaving products for sensitive skin?

Calling all sensitive skin DE/SE/straight razor shavers! I have a friend who is interested in trying shaving "the old fashioned way." However, he has sensitive skin. My question to you all is what are the best products for sensitive skinned shavers?

-Razors
-Pre-shave
-Brushes
-Soaps/creams
-Post shave
-AS
-Anything not listed here

Thanks for any and all suggestions and help.

Blades: something smooth (Astra SP/Personna Med). it's impossible to tell what will work for him.
Pre-shave: Clearly Natural glycerin soap bar (unscented or aloe)
Razor: Mild razor (Feather Popular or Gillette Tech)
Brush: A soft brush (Hjm synthetic or a silvertip badger)
Soap: Mystic Waters Sensitive skin
Post shave: Alum could help, but it may trigger a reaction, I think it's worth a try. Unscented alcohol free witch hazel with aloe (Thayer's).
Aftershave: A soothing balm like Nivea Sensitive or Speick ASB

Blade: Astra SP, Feather can also provide a very smooth shave provided good technique and no pressure
Pre-shave: Normal AM shower with whatever soap already works for his skin type. Skip harsh cleaners like Oxy or Noxema.
Razor: Merkur 23C, EJ DE89, or Gillette SS
Brush: 24MM Silvertip set at 48 to 50MM loft
Soap: Mike's Natural unscented
Post shave: Witch hazel with aloe, alcohol free like Thayers to start (would steer clear of alum until you can rule out irritation from other variables)
Aftershave: Nivea Sensitive ASB

The fewer new chemicals the better, all skin nourishing and soothing until he can add what gives him the best irritation free shave can be found. Remind him: Beard reduction, not clean shaven in one pass. Technique, angle, no pressure. BBS is NOT your target, DFS is your zen until your technique and your skin type are ready to progress further.

Find an inexpensive Gillette Tech on eBay (wish I had started this way, but you live and learn).

Proraso White (tub) and matching AFB.

Thanks everybody for the recommendations. Hopefully my friend will find this helpful, and join our ranks at B&B. Keep the suggestions coming.

Probably just using a balm without scent (or a mild scent). If he was shaving before there's really nothing about wet shaving that is any worse for sensitive skin.
