Best Man Gift - Need advice...

I am looking for a good gift to get the best man in my upcoming wedding. I have budgeted approximately $100 towards his gift, so please try to keep your recommendations at that level (or less). Here are the criteria that make this difficult for me:

- He works for a small to midsize accounting firm
- Despite my best efforts throughout undergrad, he will not shave with anything beyond an electric razor
- He does not drink or smoke
- He currently lives in a small apartment with his wife

I considered getting him a nice set of cufflinks, but I am not sure about how often one would actually wear a french-cuff shirt at an accounting firm. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

As an aside, I bought each of the other groomsmen a Kent BK2 and Trumper shaving cream tailored to their scent preferences.

Regards,
Chase

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding!

Do you know if he wears aftershave or cologne? Does he wear a tie to work? If he likes sports, how about tickets to a game (and buy seats that are much better than he'd ever buy for himself)?

You may want to talk to his wife to see if she has any ideas.

Again, congratulations!

Thank you. I have attempted to contact his wife, but she has not replied to my email in the past couple of days. That being said, I plan on trying again to contact her over the weekend. I will definitely inquire about the cologne, aftershave, or sporting ticket suggestions. Those are the types of things that I have not thought of yet.

Thank you for the suggestions,
Chase

WOW! Can I be in your wedding? What about a nice briefcase? Or find a best man that drinks and smokes. :w00t:

Chase,

Oak Hall sells some nice, professional belt buckles that you can have monogrammed, time permitting.

Congratulations and best wishes for your wedding/marriage.

How about a nice Fountain pen, or something coffee related to keep him awake during the upcoming tax season.

Doesnt drink or smoke? Electric razor? I wonder if you can purchase a personality for $100...

Buy him some time at an indoor range. And slip him an envelop with a "man card," in it.

:)

Thank you to everyone for the suggestions! Concerning the fountain pen, what is a good fountain pen that I could possibly get engraved and still fall within my price range?

Thanks again for the many recommendations,
Chase

We sometimes get people who buy sunglasses for their wedding party...

Maybe a nice pair of ray bans....he would use them everyday...unlike a flask or cuff links.

Just an idea....congrats! And good luck!

Here is a pretty good list. Of these the Pilot Vanishing point, and Sailor Sapporo and 1911 are my favorites. People either love or hate the Lamy 2000 and Vanishing points, so the safest bet would be the sapporo or 1911. Another option is the pilot knight. Send me a PM if you want more info, or want to know who has the best price on these.

I was married last June and I gave my 3 groomsmen a set of sterling silver British coin cufflinks and a bottle of nice Bourbon.

I like the pen idea, same goes for the knife.

I'd suggest a nice wallet, but it does not seem personal enough. A tie, a watch (mechanical Orient watches are surprisingly affordable) or perhaps a nice desk clock might do.
