My recollection (having not used the soap in a long while) is that they're very close. B&M's Reserve Lavender scent is based on Caldey Island Lavender, which - from what I understand - has a floral note in addition to lavender. I like the slightly less sharp scent of the B&M, but I know others may feel differently.

I think my fave lavender AS has been a few drops of EO into some Thayers (I don't care for their lavender either). It's definitely a horses for courses thing, lots of differences between lavender EOs. I distill ~80-100mL per year from our own plants and each year seems a little different.

I also have a soft spot for Trumpers Lavender Water

Taylor of Old Bond Street, DR Harris and GFT all make great lavender waters, but not balms unfortunately.

Myrsol Água Balsâmica is a nice herbal lavender with thyme and rosemary. Speick is also an interesting medicinal take on lavender

I would like to try GFT and DR Harris Lavender Waters someday

I enjoy finishing a night shave with lavender AS.

Golddachs splash in blue bottle is light and easy lavender. CF is a must have. Trying Maol wild flowers splash this week (it's lavender forward and not weak out of the bottle) and has nice skin feel so far.
