Besides Shavemac - Who makes 2-band...

Ladies and Gents,

I am looking for another brush in 2-band for face lathering. I'm looking for another premium vendor that sells the 2-band variety besides Shavemac, but though I have looked the only one I've actively seen brushes pics are the Rooney Finest, and I don't want to drop that kind of green on a brush...mainly because SWMBO would draw and quarter me if I did.

My B-day is coming up, and I thought I would treat myself... I'm thinking $150 to $190 or so...Any suggestions?

Simpson has a good selection of 2 band brushes.

Simpson, as Bob pointed out, Rooney and Plisson make two-band brushes. There is also a boar, but I cannot recall its name nor manufacturer

The new Rooney Stubby XLs are 2-band and start around $150.

Simpson's makes a 2-band as does Vie-Long and Plisson.

Personally if you can't get a Rooney Finest I would get a Shavemac D01 2-band.
I do have a Rooney Stubby XL in the mail and can't comment on it yet, but it does seem to get good reviews.

I have two Shavemacs and I think that they are fantastic brushes. I also have several of the Simpson two band LE brushes in Super Badger that are excellent as well. The Simpson LE brushes are well within your budget.

if you're looking for something on the budget side and can find one, there is the new forest 2201. it's a nice basic 2-band brush and inexpensive at around $50.

I suggest a Rooney Heritage stubby XXL, M&F Blond Badger, or TGN 24mm Extra Stuffed if you want to go for something cheaper. That said I'm a big fan of the Shavemac hair too, you cant go wrong with it. I had a Simpson Chubby 2 two band, and its a nice brush to be sure, but the price was a bit higher and the knots on them seem to be a bit peaky so they are not as comfortable on the face.
