Beginner/First SR/Dovo Special Tortoise or Ebony Spike Point?

Hey guys, new to these parts! But happy to be here, been DE for a while now but want to get into the Straight Edge side of things. Have been looking at a first SR, and have narrowed it down to either the Dovo "Special" Tortoise or the Ebony Spike Point. Not a big fan of the tortoise, so aesthetically I prefer the Ebony Spike, but if there are other factors let me know please. Was hoping to find a decently priced Spanish Point but no luck that I found.

And it seems I will be ordering from vintagebladesllc.com, so any experiences with the honing they provide would be greatly appreciated as well. Thanks for the help!

Spike points are way less forgiving. The spike can be muted, but then it's not a real spike anymore.
I learned on a spike point - I bled a lot. YMMV.

The Dovo Special is a very nice razor, my favorite Dovo.

So, after all the hubbub, I just went with the Dovo "Best Quality". I don't need nothing fancy! Especially to start out. I'll figure it out on that and go from there, on to my custom Robert Williams, haha. Big dreams, big dreams! Thanks for the input and the welcome guys.
