I'm looking for a bay rum that smells like the colonel conk soap. Pinaud bay rum just aint cutting it with the wife.

Uh, have you looked into the Col. Conk Bay Rum? Just a thought...
Seriously, if you'd like more info in it, check out the reviews section for a review of the Col. Conk Bay Rum. There are MANY variations on the theme of Bay Rum, and they range widely, both in scent and price. Good luck.

Anyone who likes Bay Rum must have lots of good in them! Please stick around, and remember - we were all newbies once and, speaking purely for myself here, had plenty of "dumb" questions. Remember, here at B&B there is no such thing as a stupid question and good manners rule.
Try the Royall Bay Rhum -- smells like candy! 
I asked the same question several months ago, and no one mentioned the Conk bay rum after shave. Then I found it and wondered why.

Just tried the Ogallala sample I got from a vendor. My first Bay Rum and I really like the smell. Seems like a little clove or something like that in it.
Bigelow is pretty good too. There are a lot of others--Pussers, etc. Try them all. Then come home to Clubman. It'll still be waiting.
Been a while since I used the Conk Bay Rum soap, it irritated my face, so I don't remember much about the scent. However, I can recommend Masters Bay Rum A/S. It's cheap, smells good, works good, and readily available at most beauty supply stores.
Buy Dominica and never look back.

Yup, the Bigelow has a nice clove scent to it. Doesn't last that long though.

The problem is that most of us don't have access to any good shaving stuff at a brick and mortar shop. Oh, what I would do to live next to Classic Shaving, or West Coast Shaving or that street in London with the 3 T's (and DR Harris, too).

Royall BR is very nice, just too pricey for me. I'm cheap.
The AS is nothing like the soap...makes no sense.

The pinaud bay rum is the conk bay rum aftershave, isn't it? They only sell rebranded products from what I'm told. The source of their soap is VDH, made to special specs as I've "heard" on the forums.
