What's new

Barber hunt over.

Well. After a few months, I have finally found my barber shop here in the new home. Really old school place to get your taper on and get it finished with a straight razor neck shave and Clubman talc. Reasonably priced @ $10 but it is worth more to me. Looking forward to taking my sons there with me when the oldest comes home from college for the holidays.

Congrats!

I was in the same boat a few months ago, and I got lucky with one try and found a quality shop not too far away. With the new location and new job, it was a bit stressful not knowing who I was going to trust with my hair. So getting that out of the way was a huge relief.

The place I found runs about $11, but last time I went in, I only had him clean up the sides and he charged me $5. Definitely my go-to place.

I live in a town of about 70,000. However, throughout the area there are probably 100,000 residents. There are less than 10 barber shops in the local phone book. It is getting really hard to find an old school barber now days. There are very few young men going into the profession to replace the old farts that are retiring or dying off. I had to wait about 20 minutes before it was my turn but the 20 minutes was not wasted. Lots of good "manly" conversation going on about hunting (since it is hunting season). Just a great manly environment at this place.
