I just got through de pinning a razor in a pair of makeshift wooden scales a la side cutters and was starting to polish it when I realized it was warped. Warped in a weird way. It's almost like it's been ground asymmetrically. The weird thing is it almost (but not quite) makes even contact with a flat and level surface. It should make for an interesting blade for me to hone, and it will be nice to cut my teeth on it, but dang I wanted this to become a daily workhorse .
If I had known it was warped, I would have left it in the scales and tossed it up on the bay and sold it as "art deco." Let a "collector" think he got a bargain piece and leave it at that. But then I would have been honest and said it was warped.
Maybe this is my fault for letting it hit the concrete floor of the basement when my fingers slipped (but no cracks...). Is this seven razors worth of bad luck?
