This conversation was saved from the Great Southern Land Social Group before it disappeared. To put a context, we did a Soap split in the BST a long time ago. From that split, many of us tried to make it work and we ended up with a small frustration as those soaps did not lather or were really hard to lather. Australian soaps are not all bad (well, if I take the Aussie Artisan soapers only) but I, unfortunately, did not come across a good one that I would consider in my regular rotation.
Anyways, here's the conversation

I had my first shave with an Aussie soap.
I am familiar with creams, but chiefly tallow soap.
As such, this link may be useful for non-tallow soaps.
tute1 - This is how mine turned out/lasted.
tute2 - how it SHOULD turn out/last
I don't know which soaps are glycerin or tallow out of this.

I will be writing reviews of these soaps, as I know some of you will be. When it comes time to 'publish' them, might someone representing us, approach the Soap Review Mods to have it cross linked from Australian Soap Compendium (under or special section). It could all be lost under the names of each individual aussie soap.

Tried the Ned Kelly this morning but I'm not ready to pass comment because I didn't get a great lather, my fault, looked just like Tute1! I'll have another go tomorrow

Anyone can do a review under the review/shaving soap... A picture is a must! The picture from the website were I bought them could be used. I would like to do at least 10 shaves to understand how the soap works and see if there are any consistency with it before I can review it.

Unfortunately, that's all I got. No reviews. I will try to search my archives and I might be able to list the soaps that we got.
