AS splash + Balm?

Hi,

I've just seen a video in youtube called "shaving like a pro" where they're teaching the show host how to shave. They use a moisturizer (actually they don't say it it's a moisturizing cream or an after-shave balm ) after having used an after-shave splash. Does this combo have any sense? Does moisturizing after having used a splash cancel out it's effects?

No- the use of both products do not cancel each other out. Aftershave splashes are used because they are typically antiseptic, close pores, sooth razor burn, and some have a nice scent and/or cool the skin. One drawback, though, is that certain ingredients such as the antiseptic alcohol also tend to dry out the skin a little- that's where the moisturizer comes in.

Moisturizers typically do just that- moisturize the skin. Whether it be because it is cold and dry outside or to counter the mild drying effects of the splash (which again, are used for other purposes) some moisturizer to finish off your shave will help bring moisture back into the skin.
