AS, ASB, ASM - differences?

I have a tough beard, and while wet shaving cuts down on the irritation I got from a Mach 3 - my neck still goes into flames on occasion. That being said - what is the difference between after shave, after shave balm, and after shave milk? And what is formulated best for those who have a great deal of shaving irritation?

AS contains alcohol and various other soothing and healing stuff.
Balms and milk don't have alcohol. YMMV as to what works best.

But they are for soothing. They can help with symptoms, but not the cause.

You should get to the bottom of why you're getting nay irritation in the first place - lather, mach 3, shaving over unlathered areas, pressure etc.
