There are much better alternatives.
A high end Arkansas (Black? Translucent?) can be used as a finisher. As I understand it, they are very, very slow. Markedly slower than the C12K. So I'd wait until I got the hang of honing until I took up that challenge.
Arkansas stones have a less than popular reputation for straight razors and yet I have seen a video of Maestro Livi using one as a final hone. They are slow cutters and the nortons are better for razors. They are not going to give you the finish of a Naniwa or other common finishing hone well known for razors.
