Based on these pictures can anyone date this razor or is more detail needed?

The case is the latest style that was out when Gillette went to the new style blade dispensers so if the razor is proper to the case it will have a loading notch.
If no loading notch it is a mis match with a pre 1948 razor and post 48 case. If it has a loading notch it will be 1948-1950 (when code dates were started again on the razor with V for 1950).
No pic of the inside of the razor on the listing so you will need to wait until you get it to look inside

No need to look inside. The blade positioning bar has tabs and there is a smooth band at the top. That's a mismatch. With the tabs, the band, and the endcaps, what you have there is a 46-47 aristocrat in a 48-51 case.

Thanks for the info. I feel like an idiot now for making a bad purchase. Another of 60+ bad razor buys.

Agreed awesome illustrations. When I first saw the pic I thought cool Alex set me straight and when I saw it was not Alex the head scratching began.
Why do you feel like an idiot? These are really hard to pick especially with lousy pics on eBay - give yourself a break!
Bad razor buy? - again why? These are a really nice razor with lots of fans!
Either way it is a good razor and the case is good too.

I am approx 90 days and a little over $1800 into DE shaving. I think it is time to call it quits on buying any and everything that makes me go ahh. I wish I could pull pics from auctions and post here for evaluation before letting the bids fly.
