What's new

aramis shave soap.

Hi gents/lady's.

Was wondering if any one has used the shave soap aramis? I like the smell of aramis what's you thoughts?

Thanks
Dave

I just got 2 cakes in the mail today from macy's. It smells awesome, but I haven't tried it yet. (I'm very new, so i'm not sure that I am anyone to listen to about the quality...)
I'm something of an impusle buyer...

Used it for over 15 years. Don't know what the ingredient list is. It is an above average soap. Maybe a step down from C&E but not by much. Cella, MWF, or Tabac it ain't but the fragrance is outstanding. Fair price too

Lets see... reading off of the box, the ingredients are:
Sodium Palmate
Sodium Cocolate/palm kernalate
Potassium Stearate
Water
glycerin
Aramis Fragrance
Sodium Chloride
Pentasodium Pentatate
Tetrasodium Etidronite
Trisodium Hedta
Benzyl Alcohol
Linalool
Geraniol
Citral
Eugenol
Limonene
Alpha Isomethyl Ionone
Treemoss Extract
A few more words I don't feel like typing- Rust (iron oxide), some titanium, and yellow coloring...

I kind of want to eat it...

mm so it looks like a go then go nicely with the aftershave.

After all of this, I am seriously thinking about giving it a lick... I suppose I will have to try it (for shaving....) tomorrow.

Aramis shave soap used to be a really good shave soap. Then a reformulation took place and the current stuff isn't that good. I ended up using it as a shower soap. It smells awesome though. I am wearing Aramis today.

haha please that would be great to get some feed back on lather and protection (not taste) :D to be honest i all ways wondered what tobs jermyn street tastes like as that smells nice .

start a new thread what dose your shave soap taste like. with blind tasting

I think the soap tasting thread is a great idea.
On to the Aramis- I used it this morning for a mostsatisfying shave.

The lather was nice and foamy, and easy to get going. It did not seem overly slippery on my fingers, but lubed up my face quite nicely. (Again, I am pretty new at all of this, so I don't have too much to compare things to, I have used like 4 different soaps- this has been my fav.) I did not end up with any nicks or razor burn or anything, and I got a great close shave. And it smelled great (it makes me think of campfires and lumberjacks chopping down sequoias, then taking a shot of whiskey and punching a mountain goat in the face).
The taste- It has awarm nutty essence with a kick of soapiness- like when your mom heard you say the “D” word in 3[SUP]rd[/SUP] grade.
In short, I liked it.

haha punching goats in the face classic.. :D thats got to be on my next list for soaps to try when payday comes around.. i tasted tobs mr taylor today must admit it smells better then it tastes..

I love using TOBS Mr Taylors cream and following with Aramis AS. For some reason Mr Taylors reminds me of Barbasol and Colgate foamy creams that my dad used to use and he always wore Aramis.

it was my grandad that wore aramis i guess this why i use it. agreed mr taylors with aramis dose smell nice..

+1

Cannot stand the scent. I take a whiff evertime I come across Aramis, nope this is not for me. On the other hand, I used to say the same about Tabac and the scent has grown on me, love the shaving soap.

i guess its like marmite you ether love it or hate it.. never tried tabac that is the on the try list.. as still new to de shaving..
